Action Pistol Ranges

The club’s Action Pistol ranges, the Pistol Pit, located next to the Bench Rest range, and the new Pistol Bay, located next to the Small Bore range are the ‘Fun Ranges’.  The Action Pistol Ranges are used for regularly scheduled competitions (Action Pistol League Matches) as well as casual, unsupervised, practical pistol practice by Members and their guests.  These are the only ranges on the Club property where pistol shooting at targets closer than 25 yards is allowed.  No plinking at cans or any other objects that could result in a ricochet.

In addition to all the standard Club Range Rules, the new, large Pistol Bay has a few new rules.
1. Located on the south end of the bay are two Orange Cone topped posts. This is the Red Line. Absolutely no targets can be placed south of that line.
2. East/West shooting is allowed, but shooters must adhere to the “180 Rule”. That means from where ever the shooter is standing on the range, all targets must be East-Northeast-North-Northwest-West of the shooters position. At NO TIME may the shooter engage any target that is South (up range) of the shooters current position.
3. As the only ranges without a designated firing line, the shooter establishes the firing line. As a result, only one active shooter is permitted at a time. Two or more individuals can occupy the Action Pistol ranges at any given time, but only one person can shoot at a time.
